I am finally getting ready to get rid of my goody two shoes image...I went and bought a pair of really tight? jeans last night and they look so good in the mirror, but I am a little self consious about wearing them out...since I am not usually seen in this type of outfit...I also bought a pack of Marlboro 100 cigarettes to use as a prop...I am not really going to smoke them much..just light them and hold them and take a drag every now and then...for looks...how do I break the ice with everyone that I am not the same debra...I am afraid I will be embarrassed...but I really want to do this...a short tight top is next. Cynthia S replied: "A new outfit is a good idea, but the cigarettes are not. That sounds so... are you a teenager? Get your hair done in a new style, dress differently, wear more/different make up, but don't light up a cigarette just to look like a bad-ass, it makes it look pretty dumb."

Ditch the cigarette prop, you wouldn't want to look as if you're trying too hard to be someone you're not. Make the change for yourself, sweetie... Being goody-two-shoes isnt bad, its an attitude toward life and people gravitate toward that attitude."

Jamie K replied: "Put down that cigarette! That will only create a NEGATIVE new image. The new jeans sound fab- make sure you add a stretchy fitted top but DO NOT get a belly shirt. They are played out and will make you look cheap. Wear some sexy stiletto boots (cold weather) or shoes (warm weather) with your jeans. You can be sexy without showing anything. Also, for makeup - less is more. Use eyeliner and some mascara + lip gloss. For you hair, sexy straight hair with a side part ALWAYS looks hot!"

Just be yourself , wear what you like do what you like (just don't rob any banks etc.) say what you feel, and your friends will begin to see the new you and adjust accordingly.If you really adore your new jeans wear them with pride, but be ready to get some good and bad attention for it. lastly, if u don't have a smoking habit don't accidently get one , it's soooo hard to get rid of."
Mandy replied: "Well Debra, every woman and girl go through this phase of wanting to change their image. I have done it, my sister, and just about every girl I know. Before changinh your image you should think first. Think is this something your doing for yourself, to make you feel better or are you doing it for other people?? Never change yourself for somebody else. Be your self and comfortable to accept you for you. Dont do soemthing just to fit in with the "in" crowd. I can tell you from past experiences that its not good but I have learned from my mistakes and I advise you to think also. Really tight jeans are cute accompanied with a cute top and jacket but you dont need to get the cigarettes. If you smoke then I cant tell you not to but that they are unhealthy but dont pick up smoking just because it looks cool. (another bad experice of mine but I have quit)

Matt replied: "The jeans are a great idea. Be careful of what type shirts you wear. The barely dressed style is gone. The style is shifting to longer shirts, and not showing as much uncovered skin. Especially with winter coming up, make sure you choose clothes that look good, but are also function. Dress like a sexy, sophisticated woman, and that will turn more heads than youd think. Get some magazines, find a style you like, and stick with it. Like someone else said, change your hair. Also, start going to a gym, or at least running or jogging. Youll feel so much better about yourself, and have more self esteem. And as for the smoking, is not 1954, and smoking isnt cool. Unless you wanna look like the Marlboro man, Joe Camel, or Steve McQueen, and I bet youve never seen any of them, showing how long its been since smoking was 'cool', dont even try it. Its not worth the health risk, and quitting will be the hardest thing youll ever do. And personally, I wont date anyone who smokes. And if youre trying to impress people who smoke, you need different friends. If youre hanging around with the other 'goodie girls', you can keep those friends, and simply dressing more stylish. Youll probably be alienated by those same people if you all of a sudden start smoking and showing that off. Just respect yourself, inside and out."

There's no point getting rid of one wrong image just to replace it with another so if you make a change it should be to something you actually like not something you think makes you look cool. My advice? Go find clothes makeup jewellery you love, buy them, go find new places to hang out, some weird friends to expose you to new ideas and generally enjoy yourself. As for breaking the ice- you're young- you are allowed to be a goth one week, a teeny bopper barbie the next, and completely reinvent yourself overnight. Just show up, people will get over it. And you don't need to be embarassed for doing something you want to do."

And honestly, a wild and crazy image will only get you the jerks looking for sex, not the ones worth having. In addition, you shouldn't do anything that will be hard or embarrassing.
That being said, you want to look like a mature, and sexy, woman. You aren't a teen or college student anymore, so you shouldn't dress like one. You also shouldn't dress older than what you are. You're at the perfect age for wearing the trendy, sexy clothing that you see in magazines, TV, and movies.
Working on how you feel about yourself on the inside can help you feel better about what's on the outside. So make sure you are doing any changes for you, not anyone else.
Learn how to flatter your figure, show off your best assets, and hide your flaws. Learn what colors look good on you, and which ones to avoid. Looking your best is always more appealing that looking like a sleeze from a bar. Most men I know prefer a well dressed women over a trampy one.
